2025 NFL Draft: Ben's Final Pre-Draft TE Rankings

Welcome to Ben's final pre-draft TE rankings! The NFL Draft is almost here, and it’s time to take one last look at this year’s tight end class. There’s a mix of solid all-around players and some exciting pass-catching prospects. Here’s how I’ve got them ranked heading into draft night.

1. Tyler Warren

Warren looks likely to be a top-15 pick on Thursday night and I can't say I blame anyone for wanting to take him that high. He is a former QB coming off a record-breaking season and career at Penn State and fits the mold of a culture changer as a great locker room guy. He isn’t quite as athletic as Loveland but is extremely instinctive and versatile. His receiving prowess is worthy of a top-15 pick in itself so it looks like my dream of him going to the Chargers is unlikely.

2. Colston Loveland

Warren is more of a “do it all” type of player while Loveland isn’t the best blocker but he makes up for it in other areas. He’s extremely athletic, and an elite route-runner. He essentially plays as a bigger WR and can win all over the field. He is the type of player that can become a number one option for an offense in my opinion.

3. Harold Fannin Jr

Fannin is a local kid to me, growing up in Canton Ohio and despite being undersized for a TE I think he can contribute immediately to whatever team drafts him. He doesn’t have the diversity in terms of route tree like Loveland but he has good speed, great hands and can rack up YAC in a hurry. He will need to prove he can consistently beat press coverage at the NFL level but he is so good as a route runner I have less concerns than most.

4. Mason Taylor

Taylor also fits more into the TE2 or 3 range but he is very young and could certainly develop/grow into his body more. He’s very smooth as an athlete and we know that he has that in his blood being the son of Jason Taylor. He's been a big riser throughout the pre-draft process and some think he could slip into the first round with the Rams fancying him in the 20's.

5. Terrance Ferguson

Fergie is someone I was very high on during his time at Oregon, and I'm happy to see how he has risen up ranks heading into the draft. He's not great as a blocker and needs to develop there if he ever wants a shot at becoming a TE1 but overall his receiving ability should get him on the field quickly in his rookie campaign.
