2025 NFL Divisional Round Predictions: Rams vs Eagles

The divisional round is here and so are our 2025 NFL Divisional Round Predictions. We will be predicting the outcome of every NFL play-off game and in today's edition we will break down the Rams vs Eagles. Let's dive in....

Los Angeles Rams @ Philadelphia Eagles

The Sunday slate kicks-off with the Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Los Angeles Rams as 6.5 point favorites. The total on this game sits at a low mark of 42.5 – down two points from open due to expected bad weather. The forecast calls for snow and wind, which aren’t the ingredients necessary for a high scoring football game. Matthew Stafford has always performed better indoors vs outdoors, and that has remained the case during his time in LA. He also has struggled on the road going 1-3 in the postseason on the road since joining the Rams, while being 4-0 at home or on a neutral site.

The main story of this game for me is the Philadelphia defense. This is the best unit top to bottom in the NFL in my opinion and they rank first overall in defensive DVOA as well. We already are expecting Stafford to struggle on the road/in the cold and that can only be heightened due to the suffocating nature of this Eagles defense.

Running the ball is crucial in cold weather and the playoffs and that’s exactly why the Eagles brought in Saquon Barkley. I’m sure that he will play a big role in this game and I could see them letting him get in the box over Jalen Hurts if awarded the opportunity on the GL due to him kneeling and not scoring late last week.

If the wind holds off and there’s snow on the ground the game could be a bit higher scoring than expected. It’s the combination of snowy conditions with high winds that we don’t want/ I’m assuming these teams will operate near the line of scrimmage with a lot of throws meaning Puka Nacua is in for another huge game in the target department. I’m also interested in Jahan Dotson props on the Eagles side – he’s been regularly running routes over 70% of the time yet his receiving line is routinely listed below 5 yards.

I’ve said for months I think this Eagles team is returning to the Super Bowl and that was before the Lions lost to the Commanders. Washington won’t be an easy out, but I trust Philly’s defense to get the job done in both games and I’ll be backing them here.

Score Prediction: Eagles 20, Rams 9

Touchdown Prediction: Dallas Goedert

After no hits in the first game, we went 2/2 in the night cap with both Jameson Williams and Terry McLaurin finding the end zone. For the first game on Sunday, we are going with a longer odds play in Dallas Goedert. Goedert has just two touchdowns this season, but one of them came last week in a postseason win over the Packers. He should operate as a safety net for Hurts in what could be bad weather, aiding him with some quick hitters to counteract the Rams pass rush. He plays a big role in the red zone as well, ranking tied for second on the team in targets inside the 20 despite missing several games. He saw two targets inside the 20 against LA in these teams earlier meeting this season, as well.
