Welcome to Ben's 2025 NFL Power Rankings!
The offseason is humming along and the new NFL season is rapidly approaching. With free agency moves, the draft, and OTAs all shaking up the league, it’s time to rank all 32 teams heading into the 2025 season. From Super Bowl hopefuls to rebuilding squads, here’s where every team currently stands:

1. Philadelphia Eagles

Kansas City went back-to-back in the 2023-24 seasons for the first time since the early 2000s, while the Eagles will attempt that feat in 2025. They definitely lost some guys on defense, but have addressed those concerns in the draft in recent seasons and they will be right back in the mix as one of the best teams in the NFL.

2. Buffalo Bills

It’s hard to put anyone over the Chiefs in this spot, but we have seen KC close as underdogs multiple times in the play-offs the last two seasons and I like how heavily the Bills addressed defense this off-season. They focused heavily on improving the defensive line and we already know what we will be getting on offense with Josh Allen coming off an MVP campaign.

3. Kansas City Chiefs

I feel like there are more question marks surrounding KC than in recent seasons, but at the end of the day they have Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid and that’s really all that matters to me. They’re getting reinforcements in the pass catcher department and will once again likely outperform expectations in close or one score games.

4. Baltimore Ravens

It’s between the Ravens and Bills for that number two spot for me – and I loved how the Ravens defense played down the stretch last season. They crushed the draft as well, and will be right back in the mix in the AFC with Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry looking to make their first ever SB appearance.

5. Detroit Lions

I feel like the loss of Ben Johnson has to count for something here, and Detroit was hit with another blow on Monday with Frank Ragnow retiring seemingly out of the blue. There is no reason to believe that they can replicate Johnson’s play-calling, while I still think the team will be very good. I think they are a step below the top four in my opinion.

6. Washington Commanders

It’s crazy how fast the Commanders have made this leap, but that’s what happens when you finally hit on a franchise Quarterback. The offensive line is much improved, and I think Washington can avoid a CJ Stroud-level sophomore slump because of that factor alone.

7. Minnesota Vikings

I’m going to be much higher than consensus on the Vikings and I’m totally okay with that. I was high on Sam Darnold and their offense coming into last season, but even then they exceeded my expectations and I’m very bullish on JJ McCarthy as a player. They spent up big on their offensive line this offseason and I think they’ll be one of the best teams in the league again this season.

8. Los Angeles Rams

LA lost a close play-off game to the eventual Super Bowl Champions in the snow last winter, and upgraded Cooper Kupp to Davante Adams. We saw what their younger defensive players can do last season and this may be the final ride for Matt Stafford with Sean McVay.

9. Green Bay Packers

I like Jordan Love and this Packers team, but I just can’t shake the feeling that they should be better than they are. I didn’t like the Matthew Golden pick personally, but they should be locked and loaded into a play-off spot once again.

10. Los Angeles Chargers

Harbaugh’s first season in LA was a success, and I expect them to build off that with a new and improved rushing attack.

11. San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco had a disaster 2024 season, but I still feel like I’m low on them here. They have an extremely favorable schedule, improved pass rush and I’ve fully bought into how good of a QB and talent elevator Brock Purdy is. I was very out on this team a year ago – I’m back in for 2025.

12. Houston Texans

Houston is another team I was lukewarm on in 2024 and I’m ready to buy back in for the upcoming season. I loved what they did this off-season, completely overhauling their offensive line and ditching Bobby Slowik for a new offensive play-caller.

13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

I don’t know if they have Super Bowl potential, but they were a good team a year ago and I expect more of the same this season with some solid moves made this off-season on the defensive side of the ball. I also loved the Emeka Egbuka pick.

14. Denver Broncos

It seems public, but I’m going to be higher on consensus than the Broncos this season. Sean Payton has done a great job replicating his earlier Saints rosters in Denver and I think this defense is going to be one of the best in the league.

15. Cincinnati Bengals

It feels weird having Cincy this low, but they’ve been putting on a masterclass in how to mismanage a team in recent off-seasons. No moves they’ve made really move the needle for me – they’re going to be fantasy gold on offense but I don’t expect them to be in the Super Bowl mix in real–life despite how good Burrow and Chase are.

16. Seattle Seahawks

I was bullish on them last season, and I’m going to run that back as I’m a big fan of Macdonald and what he’s doing. I think we could see Jalen Milroe start sooner than anticipated as well, which adds to their overall ceiling.

17. Pittsburgh Steelers

This feels like the perfect spot for the Steelers because it embodies what they’ve become the last 8 years post-Triple B’s – completely and utterly mid. They will likely win 8-9 games again, sneak in the play-offs and get decimated by the big boys at the top of the conference.

18. Chicago Bears

Most teams look at what position group they improved most heading into the season, while the Bears most improved their coaching staff. This is key, especially for the development of Caleb Williams and they have the pieces to take a nice step forward in 2025.

19. Arizona Cardinals

Arizona is another team I’m higher on than consensus – I love their coaching staff and I love what they did to address the defensive side of the ball this off-season.

20. Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta also did well to address their defense and overhaul what was a very lackluster pass rush group in 2024. They have weapons on offense and I think Michael Penix can be good.

21. Dallas Cowboys

I don’t really know where to go with the Dallas Cowboys but I do know that Dak Prescott throwing to CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens is dun. Pickens is going to allow Lamb to really thrive and operate in the slot and there is upside for them to be better than this position for sure.

22. Miami Dolphins

Miami is the toughest team to peg for the upcoming season in my opinion – Tyreek Hill is getting older and coming off a bad season while I don’t think Jalen Ramsey will even be on the team when we kick-off in September. They can still make the play-offs due to a lackluster division (minus the Bills) but it feels like their window may already be closed.

23. New England Patriots

I’m not the highest on Mike Vrabel – but I like the moves they made and I love Drake Maye. This is a team I’ll be watching closely at the beginning of the season – now we just need Stefon Diggs to stay away from the tusi…

24. Jacksonville Jaguars

I don’t know how good the team will be, but they sure will be fun to watch. Brian Thomas Jr and Travis Hunter on the same offense shouldn’t be legal.

25. Indianapolis Colts

The Colts are tough to figure out, but they honestly probably should be ranked a bit higher on the sole fact they have as good of a chance as anyone in that division. Will Anthony Richardson take a leap? Or will Daniel Jones be starting by October?

26. Las Vegas Raiders

One of these “bad” teams always seems to find their way into the wildcard round year after year and my money right now would be on Las Vegas or Carolina for this season. Pete Carroll is a short term option at coach, but Geno Smith excels indoors and that offense is going to be fun to watch.

27. Carolina Panthers

I’m still a Bryce Young fan and he looked much better down the stretch last season. They did their best to upgrade the defense and I’m a believer in Canales as a coach. Carolina could surprise some people in 2025.

28. Cleveland Browns

I have essentially 0 faith in any of these next four teams starting with the Browns who will likely play three or four QBs in 2025 as they evaluate whether or not they spend one of their multiple first round picks on one in 2026.

29. New York Jets

I think they had a very average off-season – let’s see how Aaron Glenn does as a first time head coach.

30. New York Giants

Could be a really fun offense, but I doubt we see Dart until the end of the year unless things get completely off the rails.

31. Tennessee Titans

The start of the Cam Ward era will likely be a rough one, but the big question will be whether or not he’s their franchise QB.

32. New Orleans Saints

I have no words here. Free Chris Olave.
