Bills vs Texans Predictions: Week 12 Thursday Night Football Preview
Buffalo Bills @ Houston Texans
Line: Bills -5.5
Total: 44.5
Week 12 opens with the Bills traveling to Houston to face-off with the Texans. Kick-off is scheduled for 8:15 ET and the game will be broadcast on Prime Video.
We finally saw some points scored on Monday night with the Cowboys putting up 30+ on their own. However, I fear we may be back to the trenches tonight with a medium-sized total and two offenses that are fine running the ball for spells. Josh Allen contributed to 6 total touchdowns in the Bills win over the Bucs this past Sunday, though the offense as a whole has been less efficient with Dalton Kincaid off the field vs on. He's out again tonight, and it sounds like Keon Coleman will be a healthy inactive in addition to Mecole Hardman and Curtis Samuel being out due to injury as well. Allen seems forced to throw to new weapons weekly – and it will be some combo of Khalil Shakir, Josh Palmer, Tyrell Shavers, Gabe Davis, Elijah Moore and Dawson Knox as his featured weapons tonight. James Cook will be a key cog in the offense as well – but I think there’s value on the betting board and in DFS contests with any of the non-Shakir Bills pass catchers.

On the Texans side of the ball, it’s once again Davis Mills filling in for the injured CJ Stroud. The way to beat the Bills has been to run on them – as we saw the Bucs do last week – and Woody Marks has firmly taken over as the lead back for the Texans. I don’t trust Nick Chubb to contribute much on a short week – so it’s likely that Marks and Nico Collins are the main offensive pieces tonight for Houston. Buffalo has been vulnerable to QB’s that scramble, and Mills did run in a TD against the Jags a few weeks ago – looking at him +1200 to score is the type of longshot I like to bet on in these primetime games.
Overall, I think Buffalo wins this game but they’ve been so inconsistent it won’t shock me to see Houston hang around at home. I’m expecting a low scoring affair.
Touchdown Prediction: Gabe Davis
Score Prediction: Bills 24, Texans 16
