NFL Week 7 Waiver Wire: Top Pickups & Must Adds

Welcome to our weekly waiver wire blog where we break down the most important fantasy football pickups heading into Week 7

Kimani Vidal

Both Haskins and Vidal were featured in last week’s article, but it’s clear now that Vidal is the guy and he should be rostered in any league he’s available in. Vidal saw 75%% of the Chargers backfield touches against the Dolphins despite reports that Haskins would lead the backfield – and he turned those touches into nearly 150 scrimmage yards and a touchdown. I would be willing to use 20-25% of my FAAB on Vidal in any league he’s on waivers.

Tyjae Spears

This is more of a speculative pickup, but Spears was a hot breakout candidate pick coming into the season and is rostered in under 30% of Yahoo leagues. We’ve seen his workload increase weekly since his return from injury and I believe there is upside for him to flip Pollard in usage down the stretch of the season especially after the Titans made a switch to the coaching staff.

Luther Burden

I loved Burden from a prop betting angle on Monday night and he delivered a solid 4-51 line against the Commanders. More importantly, he posted a season high route participation and I expect that trend to continue now that the Bears bye week is passed. He should flip Olamide Zaccheus as the season progresses and we know he has talent.

Tez Johnson

Mike Evans will be returning soon for the Bucs, but it sounds like both Chris Godwin and Emeke Egbuka will be missing more time leaving the secondary Bucs pass catchers in a good spot to contribute more moving forward. Johnson scored a long touchdown last weekend, and ran over 40% of his routes from the slot making him likely to be on the field alongside Evans and Sterling Shepard when the Bucs deploy three wideouts.

Jordan Whittington

This one might be a short term option, but he’s available in nearly every league and it looks like Puka Nacua is going to miss at least one game for the Rams. Davante Adams will hog the majority of the targets – but we’ve seen Whittington play a larger role in the offense with Nacua out before and I expect him to be the second option firmly behind Adams. This is better for 12 team leagues.
