NFL Week 9 Waiver Wire: Top Pickups & Must Adds

Welcome to our weekly waiver wire blog where we break down the most important fantasy football pickups heading into Week 9.

Tyrone Tracy

Tracy is available in over 50% of public Yahoo leagues, and would be the top-overall pick-up in these softer league settings. He saw 8 touches to Devin Singletary’s 3 once Cam Skatteboo went down against the Eagles and we have a decent sample size of him being the lead back for this Giants team last season. He is at worst a FLEX start weekly moving forward.

Brashard Smith

In larger or more difficult leagues, Smith is my priority scoop this week coming in with 80% availability across all Yahoo league formats. Smith has been trending up, especially in the passing game and now will see an increased role with Isiah Pacheco banged up in the best offense in the NFL. Kareem Hunt is going to have a lock on GL work, but that doesn’t mean Smith can’t provide usable fantasy performances.

Dylan Sampson

Quinshon Judkins is looking likely to miss action after the Browns come back from their bye week, and we can get ahead of leaguemates by scooping him now as opposed to next week. Sampson handled the lead back duties to begin the season and was effective, especially in the passing game. His only issue is this inept offense, he’s better suited for PPR leagues.

Christian Watson

Matthew Golden has failed to separate as the dynamic, down the field threat the Packers thought they drafted. Watson returned from injury recently and ran a route on over 60% of Love’s dropbacks against the Steelers. There’s a chance for him to the Packers top fantasy WR down the stretch of the season.
