NFL Week 3 Waiver Wire: Top Pickups & Must Adds

Welcome to our weekly waiver wire blog, where we break down the most important fantasy football pickups heading into Week 3!
Daniel Jones
Jones is available in over 80% of Yahoo fantasy leagues, yet comes into the week top-three in fantasy points at the QB position. I understood people being hesitant to fully believe it with Jones after shredding the weak Dolphins defense – but he did the same thing this past weekend to one of the top defenses in football. He has a strong cast of weapons and a good playcaller making him the shoe in waiver wire priority if you lost Joe Burrow to injury.
Blake Corum
This is a deeper league target, but I’m feeling very bullish about Corum moving forward for the Rams. Corum was someone I liked a lot as a rookie, and it seems like he’s finally earned himself a bigger role moving forward. Kyren Williams saw his carries take a substantial hit last week, falling to under 80%. He has always been an inefficient player that relies on touchdowns and volume to get bye. Any big hit to his workload would be a big issue and it sounds like Corum has finally earned enough trust to cut into this workload. You can make the case that Corum is the better player and I’m willing to try and get in on him early.
Troy Franklin
I noted Franklin’s viability as a low-owned DFS play on Sunday and even I couldn’t have predicted the breakout game he posted against the Colts. He ended up leading the team in targets on Sunday en route to his best game as a pro. You can never fully trust Sean Payton, but given his rapport with Bo Nix I feel confident he will continue to run as the WR2 on this team and he will likely be a hot commodity on the wire tonight.
Christian Kirk
Kirk is available in over 60% of Yahoo fantasy leagues right now, and we already got confirmation that he will be ready to go for his Texans debut in Week 3. This offense has been suspect through two weeks, but he is immediately going to step in as the second option for CJ Stroud who can use him in the short / intermediate areas of the field to counteract pressure. Stroud has always fed his slot receivers and Kirk might be my preferred overall scoop in Week 3.
