World Cup Predictions for 7/4/26
Canada vs Morocco
Score Prediction: Morocco 2, Canada 0
Canada has already exceeded expectations for this World Cup in my opinion. While they didn’t win their Group, they managed to win not only their first ever World Cup match but a knockout round game as well. They’ve dealt with a myriad of injuries all summer and ultimately I don’t think they have enough to offer against a Moroccan side built for tournament play. It was a surprise to see Morocco make a run to the semi-finals in 2022, but it is no longer a surprise to see them have success on the world stage with this roster. Coming into the tournament I was a bit worried about disorganization with Mohamed Ouahbi just recently taking over as manager, but those concerns have been alleviated. He led the Moroccan U-20’s to World Cup victory last year, and I actually like how they play a bit more open offensively under him. This Moroccan attack is just too powerful in my opinion and I think we will see the difference in quality of player shine through on Saturday afternoon.

France vs Paraguay
Score Prediction: France 3, Paraguay 0
France was my biggest conviction coming into the tournament, and they’ve done nothing but deliver thus far. They have already scored 13 goals for the tournament – and you can legitimately say they’ve had three of the four or five best players at the tournament thus far featured just in their attack between Mbappe, Dembele and Olise. As high on Les Bleus as I am, I still think that we haven’t seen them get tested in the defensive third much and they can be had a bit in the back. That being said, Paraguay is not the side to do that in my opinion. They had to work and grind for 120 minutes against Germany to get that game to PK’s and it’s going to be a much taller task today against a much, much more imposing and creative attack from the French.
