Argentina vs Egypt

Score Prediction: Argentina 3, Egypt 1

 

Cape Verde took Argentina to the brink in their last match, and as fun of a match as that was, I don't see Egypt being able to do the same. They’re dealing with major injury issues in the back, and while Mo Salah will play and give his all I don’t think he is 100% healthy either. Egypt is known for being stout in the back and being tough to score on. That being said, they’ve struggled with these injuries and the back and have conceded in every game. Their xG allowed is not good, and this could be a spot for that luck to run thin and Argentina pounces on their chances led by Messi.

Switzerland vs Colombia

Score Prediction: Colombia 2, Switzerland 0 

 

Colombia was one of my favorite dark horses in the tournament and I am holding a nice pre-tournament semi-final ticket on them. They have been elite defensively and they have put themselves in great positions on offense they just haven’t converted into goals. Switzerland has really rebounded after that opening game against Qatar, but the big news for me is that Johan Manzambi will miss this game. The Swiss benefited a ton from inserting him into the starting lineup and they’re really going to miss his creativity against a stifling Colombian defense.
