World Cup Predictions for 6/15/26
We bounced back with a break even day yesterday, but got to watch the game of the tournament thus far in Netherlands vs Japan. We also secured France at + money tomorrow thanks to a few parlays – and we were just a few minutes away from predicting a 0-0 game in the Ivory Coast vs Ecuador match. Let’s dive into Monday…
Spain vs Cape Verde
Kick-Off: 12 PM ET
Location: Atlanta
I don’t have many thoughts here, as I expect Spain to handle Cape Verde with relative ease. Spain is the favorite to take home the trophy as of now, and despite dealing with some injury situations they should use this as an ease in type game. It sounds like Lamine Yamal is fine and ready to go, and while we should see a spirited effort from the opposing side early on ultimately Spain will be too great of a test.
Prediction: Spain 4, Cape Verde 0
Belgium vs Egypt
Kick-Off: 3 PM ET
Location: Seattle
This will likely be the game of the day in my opinion, with the remnants of Belgium’s golden generation trying to make good on their disappointing result in the 2022 World Cup. Egypt has never won a World Cup game, but led by Mo Salah I think there is some sleeper appeal to them in this tournament.
Overall, it seems like most have completely written off Egypt, but I’m not so quick to do so. I’m not sure how you can trust Belgium given what we’ve seen from them in their last few major tournament go arounds and Egypt is a very disciplined team that can use their counter attack to create chances against what can be a sloppy Belgium defense at times.
Prediction: Belgium 1, Egypt 1
Saudi Arabia vs Uruguay
Kick-Off: 6 PM ET
Location: Miami
Uruguay come into this game as -220 favorites on the moneyline, but I’m not ready to write off Saudi Arabia. On paper, this Saudi side is one of the worst in the tournament but I think we all remember when they jumped on another South American team, Argentina, and upset them 2-1 to kick-off the 2022 World Cup. We haven’t seen Uruguay play – they opted against doing any warm up matches and they faced some travel issues getting into the country due to paperwork problems. Couple that, some injuries and the heat in Miami this evening and I’m expecting an absolute rock fight.
Prediction: Saudi Arabia 0, Uruguay 0
Iran vs New Zealand
Kick-Off: 9 PM ET
Location: Los Angeles
We had some great games yesterday and big offensive performances, and as you can tell I’m expecting the exact opposite today. For the sickos like me that have watched every minute of this tournament thus far, I need you to tough it out with me today as better days are ahead.
I’m expecting another rock fight, low scoring affair here. We should see a spirited effort from the Iranians in this game as they face off with the lowest ranked team in the tournament by rank. If my prediction holds true and Belgium tie Egypt earlier on in the day we could see a bit more open play as these two teams fight for three points and the group lead after their first matches.
Prediction: Iran 0, New Zealand 0
