World Cup Predictions for 6/21/26

We had a GREAT Saturday slate. Let's keep it up!

Spain vs Saudi Arabia

Kick-Off: 12 PM ET

Location: Atlanta

Cape Verde shocked the world last weekend when they managed a 0-0 draw vs Spain – while Saudi Arabia earned a hard fought point against Uruguay in Miami. They will be hoping for another point here today, but they just might run into a buzzsaw with a motivated Spain team looking to make their mark and secure three points with Lamine Yamal back in the starting lineup. Yamal has to be the difference here and I would be shocked to see him not contribute to a goal in some capacity.

Prediction: Spain 3, Saudi Arabia 0

Belgium vs Iran

Kick-Off: 3 PM ET

Location: Los Angeles

Both of these teams managed a point in their opening game, and we should see spirited efforts today on both sides. Belgium is one of the teams I was clearly lower on than consensus coming into the tournament and I still don’t trust them enough to bet them in this spot. Their formation was strange tactically in their first game and it hindered them against Egypt. Offensively they are a force, but they are vulnerable to concede and I could see Iran finding the back of the net on Sunday afternoon.

Prediction: Belgium 1, Iran 1

Uruguay vs Cape Verde

Kick-Off: 6 PM ET

Location: Miami

Like Belgium, Uruguay was a team I wanted to fade and we successfully backed a draw in their opening game against Saudi Arabia. A slow start was imminent after playing no friendlies leading up to the tournament and there is increasing drama between the roster and manager Marcelo Bielsa. This is a much softer spot for them with no travel as they played in Miami once, but I still don’t find myself wanting to back them as sizable favorites. Cape Verde is playing with house money and while they have essentially 0 threat on offense they can play compact on defense and frustrate an already underwhelming Uruguay attack.

Prediction: Uruguay 1, Cape Verde 0

Egypt vs New Zealand

Kick-Off: 9 PM ET

Location: Vancouver

I have a longshot future on Egypt to win this group, so I’m hoping for a big result here against New Zealand. Egypt honestly outplayed Belgium in my opinion and they are far superior today. Mo Salah is just two goals away from tying the all-time scoring record for his country and I’m backing him to secure a brace en route to a big three points on Sunday.

Prediction: Egypt 3, New Zealand 1
