World Cup Predictions for 6/30/26
We swept our bets yesterday as well as correctly predicted the final score of two out of three games! We have three more great matches on tap for Tuesday, let’s dive in!
Norway vs Ivory Coast
Score Prediction: Norway 2, Ivory Coast 1 (+750)
We kick-off Tuesday with two of the darling teams of this tournament squaring off in Norway and Côte d’Ivoire. Norway has reached the Round of 16 just one time since 1928 while the Ivory Coast have never been this far in the tournament, so we are sure to get a historical result today regardless of outcome. I thought it was interesting that Norway so easily accepted second place in the group and chose to rotate almost their entire roster against France, but Erling Haaland and company should be fresh and ready to go for this contest. The story with Norway starts with Haaland and their offense where he has now netted 59 goals in 52 caps for his country. Their defense is another story and the Ivory Coast has the firepower up top with Pepe, Diamonde and Diallo to really threaten this backline. I’m still looking for Diamonde to find the scoresheet after we were unsuccessful backing him in their last match. Overall, I think most are assuming this will be a Norway victory and while I’m going with that as my prediction, I actually think this is the most likely game if we are to see an upset today.
France vs Sweden
Score Prediction: France 3, Sweden 0 (+800)

This game is much more straightforward in my opinion – France was my pick to win this tournament before it began and they’ve done nothing to change that prediction. They’ve looked like the most complete side in my opinion, while Sweden has been as inconsistent as anyone. I think these teams are simply on other levels, and I am not sure what we will even see from Sweden today tactically. They switched things up in the back after the Netherlands lit them up for 5 goals, but I think relying on their offense and hoping to win a shootout is their only hope for any success on Tuesday afternoon. Ousmane Dembele scored a hat trick for France against Norway’s backups, but I’m looking for Mbappe to get back on the scoresheet today as he chases down Lionel Messi in hopes for the golden boot – and all-time World Cup scoring record.
Mexico vs Ecuador
Score Prediction: Mexico 1, Ecuador 0 (+450)
This is a very interesting game and features two teams that I was backing for sleeper runs in this tournament for two very different reasons. This is a very new, and different Mexican side than we are used to seeing but it just feels like this tournament was set up for their success. They haven’t left Mexico yet, and will be playing this game tonight in front of 80,000 Mexican fans at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. Should they win, they will remain in Mexico City and likely face England there as well. As for Ecuador, I thought they would perform much better in the group stage and by all accounts they were lucky to advance. Both of these teams are very stingy on defense, and neither concede a lot of goals. Hence why the total is just 1.5 for this contest. I don’t like buying into narratives much, but the proof is in the pudding here. Mexico has lost just two times in Mexico City since the 1960s and I don’t see them falling tonight. There has been a total of 12 cards handed out in the last two meetings between these teams – so I’m expecting it to be a very physical game.
