Fantasy Football Week 2 Waiver Wire: Top Pickups & FAAB Bids

Quarterback

Carson Wentz (2–3%)
Geno Smith (1%)
Bryce Young (1%)

Surprisingly enough, there are some viable streaming QBs available after just one week of games. Wentz is the best option of the group, but he’ll also command the most FAAB attention. He’s operating in a fantasy-friendly offense with the Bears, Bucs and Dolphins on deck over the next few weeks.

Running Back

Kaelon Black (up to 15%)
Keaton Mitchell (1–3%)
Deep League: Sione Vaki

If Kaelon Black is available in your league, he is far and away my top priority at any position. I don’t want to overreact to Week 1, but keeping CMC fresh is in the best interest of the 49ers. There’s a chance Black has a legitimate role in this offense on top of already being one of the better handcuffs to roster.

The Chargers offense looked terrible, but after Kimani Vidal didn’t play on offense, Keaton Mitchell looks like the clear No. 2 behind Hampton. He has a chance to carve out a fantasy-viable role in a Mike McDaniel offense.

Wide Receiver

Devaughn Vele (up to 8%)
Caleb Douglas (up to 8%)
Pat Bryant (up to 4%)
Antonio Williams (1–2%)
Pop Douglas (1%)
Kalif Raymond (1%)

There are tons of WR options on the board this week, with Vele being the priority in any league where he’s available. He led the team in routes run, though it’s worth noting that Chris Olave went to the medical tent twice with cramping. Overall, as long as Tyson is out, Vele is startable in a fantasy-friendly offense.

I love Pat Bryant as a pickup as well. He led the Broncos in first-read target percentage, per FantasyPoints, and looks like he can play a legitimate role in this Denver offense.

Both Pop Douglas and Kalif Raymond are strong adds in 12- to 14-team leagues if they’re available.

Tight End

Kenyon Sadiq (1%)

I’m not really looking to pick up any tight ends this week unless it’s a TE-premium league. In standard formats, Kenyon Sadiq looks like a worthy bench stash, with his role likely to increase as we head into October.
