NFL Week 2 Predictions: Ben's Bold Calls for Sunday

Packers vs. Jets Combine for 60+ Points

I’ve been on this game all week as a potential shootout, and the weather looks less concerning today than it did on Thursday. I was higher than the market on the Jets coming into the season, as well as the Packers passing offense. I was hoping Green Bay would let Jordan Love fully cook with a bad offensive line and Josh Jacobs out, and that’s exactly what we got in Week 1.

Geno Smith has always been a good quarterback when kept clean, and the Jets did a great job keeping him upright in Week 1. Green Bay has a limited pass rush without Micah Parsons, and this time Smith and the Jets offense should actually get some pushback from Love and company, unlike what we saw from the Titans last Sunday.

Give me a barn burner in New Jersey with these teams combining for 60+ points.

Bo Nix Throws for 300 Yards and 3 TDs

This is something I’ve come onto later in the week, but I really think the Broncos offense can have a big bounce-back day at home.

Jacksonville has one of the best offenses in the NFL, and I think we could see them involved in shootouts regularly this season because I don’t trust the back end of their defense. This is a unit replacing multiple starters from a year ago, and I don’t want to forget that I was looking to attack them coming into the season just because Deshaun Watson and the Browns were a dumpster fire in Week 1.

We’ve seen Nix and the Broncos get into some nutty, pass-heavy game scripts in the past, and I’m looking for that to pop off again in their home opener this afternoon. Give me Nix for 300+ yards and three touchdowns.

Deshaun Watson Gets Benched Mid-Game

I made a TikTok over a month ago saying this would be Deshaun Watson’s last start as a Cleveland Brown, and that’s looking more likely by the hour.

Watson looked horrific last week against Jacksonville and was taking sacks even without the Jaguars blitzing often. Fast forward to this week, and he’s facing an imposing Buccaneers front seven led by Todd Bowles, who blitzes as much as anyone in the NFL.

This could get ugly quickly, and I’m not sure Watson even makes it through the entire game. My bold prediction: he gets benched before it’s over.
